Hunger Prints

by Marianne Wieland

Marianne began creating Hunger Prints after attending a Bible class at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in 1979. Every year an embossed print is inspired by a Biblical theme and sold by the church during Advent and Christmas. Since then, over $275,000 has been raised for both local and global hunger relief projects.

We are blessed to have a special Wieland Room off of our sanctuary displaying Marianne's Hunger Prints.

Renowned Alaskan artist Byron Birdsall painted "The Good Shepherd" in 2009, inspired by our stained glass window in the sanctuary. He added Mt. Denali to the background, creating a beautiful image of Jesus in front of North America's tallest peak. Small poster prints and larger giclee prints are available for purchase from the church office. All proceeds go to support Gloria Dei's various ministries.
